Doha Transfer

| Sat, December 31, 2011 12:30 pm | 0 Comments

Hello, I’m at Doha airport now. Flew Qatar airways. Have to wait another 12 hours for the flight. Its suppose to be 4am in London now, but over here is around 7am, so, donno whether to sleep or play computer. Doha airport scenery is flat desert, but since its winter time, temperature outside is 18 degrees. Feeling sleepy now, I have some food from the plane, some biscuits and banana will eat later.

So visited uncle Ben in Romford and had some chinese food at his favourite restaurant. After that went to St Pauls for a walk. Walk across the millenium bridge, bourough market etc. After that went to Picadilly Circus for final nightime walk. Bought some m&ms at the m&ms shop, walk around chinatown etc…zzz

Yesterday visit Angie and her kid Zoe.So was at Angie house whole day. She cooked lunch and dinner. So got some chance to eat some noodles and rice. Very full. Also have to play with Zoe, watch TV etc.

Today woke up early about 7am to go out. Visit the Tower Bridge, walk along the riverside and had another big English Breakfast. Then walk to Monument trains station. There’s this very tall Monument tower, built to commemorate the London fire in 1666. So its like a smaller version of KL tower. So got chance to climb some staircase. No batu caves, but here also can exercise 300 over steps, narrow staircase, go round and round up and up and up then reach the top, where you can have a nice 360 view of London. Quite strong wind up there also. After that went to Stratford. Angie said there’s a big shopping mall there just outside the train station. Ok, so just go jalan jalan shopping mall lah. Outside you can see one of the stadium where they going to have the 2012 Olympic games.

Yesterday ate some bacon, egg and sausage and baked beans with toast at nearby restraurant. Then took train to Green Park, see the Buckingham Palace etc, then walk to about 1km to Hyde Park. Good thing I came hear because they were having some Bavarian Village Fair, all the christmas theme stalls with all the lights and selling food like German beer, german sausage, candy floss, etc etc etc, very happening lah. Got theme park also, roller coaster, carousel etc etc like genting highlands. Then go walking around the park can see some swans, ducks, seagulls eating dead pigeon etc etc.. Can see people ice skating etc… nice christmas environment, good weather today so no rain and no need to wear too thick, also night time its even more happening with all the lights from the rides/theme park/shops etc. Spent a few hours there. You can take sun set photo at 4pm. After that walked abit more to Knightsbridge, go to Harrods again to use toilet. Also on the way can see some Ferrari and Mclaren sports cars in the shop. Got some other shops here lie TopShop, Zara and United Colours of Benetton etc. Tired, go home.

London update

Still alive here, although already missing some malaysian food. You can’t really just walk out and order a mee goreng. Just had some soup and bread and yogurt for lunch and some biscuits and bananas. Later in the evening will probably have a nice meal in chinatown. So far visited the London Museum, walk along Oxford street. Yesterday went to Harrods spent whole day just walking up and down the floors again and again. Raining outside and alot of people doing their last minute shopping. Even the cafe are full, people lining up waiting to be seated. Just had a simple lunch of bread and peanut butter, while sitting outside at one of the bus stops. But nice to visit Harrods again, manage to explore more of the upper floors e.g. toy level or luxury items level etc. And downstairs got the food and chocolates hall, but of course crowded with many many people. Also went to walk around Leicester square last night. Weather is ok, just 3 layers enough, together with trekking pants and trekking shoes. Flight was ok, I think spent 24 hours travelling from KL to London, with 4 hours stopover in Doha airport. Was quite blur when I arrived in London, lost my favourite scarf that I bought from sikkim, probably left it on the train. Always loosing a few things here and there while travelling e.g. on the way to brunei lost another small water bottle that I bought from Nepal. Anyway no worries, everything has a lifespan.

In my friend’s flat here, just 2 stops away from Kings Cross station, so very convenient, no need to spend so much on train tickets. Neighbour downstairs was knocking on the door. Have to be quiet and walk slowly, wear thick socks so not so noisy and disturb the neighbour downstairs. Its almost 3pm now and I haven’t gone out yet, had a long lunch. Later will visit another museum… ok chat later…

Eat more

Another super quiet weekend. Yesterday was a holiday, Sultan Selangor birthday I think. So I woke up early as usual to go for a walk and have early breakfast, then I wanted to have lunch at 10am, so I went to 1 utama. But most of the shops just opened, or still closed or not ready yet, so I just walked one round and then went back home. The 1 utama christmas theme is under the sea, lots of seashells instead of christmas trees.

Anyway, I’m still recovering from cough and flu. Taking some medicine. Went to SJMC hospital to see doctor because mom and dad was freaking out. Anyway, doctor said its just normal cough and just take some cough syrup and flu medicine. Could be just allergy. Hospital now is like a shopping mall. Got multilevel underground carpark. Round and round still no parking space, lots of empty space for the disabled. In the hospital also alot of people like shopping mall, people waiting to collect the medicine, all the visitors going up and down the lift, and all the kids etc. Its like a regular family outing, go to hospital.

Anyway I’m fine, just very thin, and trying to eat more. Eat big breakfast, and maybe later on I will go swimming.

Uggghhh

Been down these few days, sick. First 2 days of the week, that time of the month, didn’t eat anything (just half plate of fried mee hoon whole day),  so immune system down. Didn’t take any fruits also for 2 days. Now my cough is back and really bad cough and flu.  Cough so much until I can’t hold my bladder. These must be signs of getting old. I’m sure it will clear off after a few days but mom force me to take some medicine. Otherwise they might send me back to Malaysia when I land in London with a bad cough/flu. Anyway, getting old is not a bad thing. Its even a good excuse to act old, and forgetful and blur when you want to dump another annoying client. So that the client realize that you can’t do the work anymore and have no choice but hire someone else. Yah lah what to do, client don’t get the hint when I try to ask for more $$$. Yesterday Dad b’day ate at the japanese buffet in Shogun. Dad can eat for free, since got Birthday promotion. Mom is senior citizen, so half price. I full price, but I didn’t eat much because I coughing. Anyway, as usual, Dad ate the most and really made good use of his free dinner. Ok, at least I had some soup and tempura stuff, and an oyster, and half plate udon, chawan mushy, jelly and some fruits…

Yesterday lunch with Dr. Ng (one of the uncles from Annapurna trip), Kelly and Shoo Chan and Mr Chang.  Vegetarian restaurant in 1 utama. Kelly bought me a ‘OK OK’ hat. Its a blue jeans material hat, with the words Ok and Ok at both sides. Time to come up with some more ok ok merchandise. Anyway, long time didn’t see Shoo Chan also, I think she just came back from her mega long China solo trip. Mr Chang is planning a Grand Canyon/Colorado river trip for next year. See how…
